Enter Canada's largest art and creative writing competition for Indigenous youth!

Open to Canadians of Indigenous ancestry (self-identified Status, Non-Status, Inuit or Métis) between the ages of 6 and 29, this competition invites youth to create a piece of art or writing that explores Indigenous culture or heritage.

Your entry must include a 200- to 400-word artist's or author's statement explaining how your piece explores Indigenous culture or heritage.

Art submissions must be two-dimensional in nature and may include sketches, paintings or photography. Writing submissions can be in any genre: short stories, plays, poetry, screenplays, etc. If you are between the ages of 14 and 18, your story submission(s) should be no longer than 1400 words.

The competition deadline is March 31, 2018.

Explore the Arts & Stories Collection to read winning entries from previous years. Competition guidelines are also available on the site. You may submit your entry online or by mail.
